The 9C1 finally made it to the paint shop in January of 1999, after a
couple of months of wrangling with all the reputable shops in the Birmingham
area. Fitting into a shop schedule was the big problem.
Almost everyone told me that their schedules were full and that May
might be the earliest available slot. Finally, I found a shop
willing to commit to a mid-January appointment, which wound up slipping
to the last week of January.
